MULTIPURPOSE ROOM
-Papiol
The new multipurpose cultural space of El Papiol strengthens the link between the consolidated urban fabric and the western slope of the Collserola Park. The proposal recognizes BANDA I BANDA the transitional condition of the context and defines a building of a seemingly isotropic nature. The language common to many of the nearby buildings is taken as a reference, from houses to ships and sheds, characterized by the masonry and the sloping roof of ceramic tile, as well as the landscape diversity of natural areas: fields agricultural, shrubby, wooded areas and clayey surfaces.
The new equipment takes care of the A BANDA I BANDA environment. It is organized from a lobby - an exhibition hall that, as a passage - a gallery, connects the two newly created public spaces. To the south, an "urban era" flanked by wooded areas and bushy vegetation that connects the library and the multipurpose room. To the north, a car park arranged from a cherry tree plantation evoking an autochthonous (heritage) landscape. The new multipurpose cultural space is offered in the village through a porticoed access and a bar on the corner, and in Collserola with free access to the main lobby and a viewpoint on the first floor (public staircase lobby), evidencing the reversible nature of the building.
